Party Secretary: Zhu Shihong

Zhu Shihong, born in February, 1959 in Pi Xian City of Sichuan Province, now is the secretary of the Communist Party Committee of China, Southwest Petroleum University. Mr. Zhu began his career in July 1977 and became a member of the Communist Party Committee of China in 1983, in the same year he graduated from the Statistics Department of South Western University of Finance and Economics at SWUFE (South Western University of Finance and Econonics). In July 1987, he earned his second bachelor's degree from the School of Political Science and Public Management at Southwest University. From October 1988 to 1991 he served in a plethora of positions such as the deputy secretary of the Party Committee in the School of Public Finance and Taxation, the secretary of the Party Committee in the School of Planning and Statistics, the vice director of the School of Continuing Education and the director of the Department of Recruitment and Employment at SWUFE. From March 2001 to August 2005 he served as the vice secretary of the Communist Party Committee of China at SWUFE. From August 2005 to the present he serves as the secretary of the Communist Party Committee of China at SWPU (Southwest Petroleum University ). Professor Zhu is a member of the Quality Education Committee of All-China Universities, researcher of the National Political Science Profession Committee, and vice-president of School Political Education Seminar of Sichuan Province and general secretary of the College Party Developmental Theory Seminar. Professor Zhu has written ten monographs and textbooks, twenty research papers and has taken charge of two provincial and ministerial key projects.

President and Deputy Party Secretary: Du Zhimin

Du Zhimin, born in September 1953 in Xi’an of Shanxi Province, is the president and deputy secretary of Communist Party Committee of China, Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU), Madam Du is mainly responsible for the administrative affairs of the school. She began her career in 1970 before joining the Communist Party Committee in October 1976. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Oil Production Engineering in 1978 from the school of Petroleum Engineering, SWPU, she studied abroad in the Petroleum Engineering Graduate School, Clausthal Industrial University of West Germany from 1985-1988. Since the beginning of 1989, Madam Du has held various positions at SWPU. Initially, she was the vice director of the School of Petroleum Engineering and then director of the Scientific Research Center before becoming the director of the School of Petroleum Engineering, SWPU in 1997. In the same year, she became the president assistant of the University which was a stepping stone for her 1999 appointment as the vice president of SWPU. She was named president of SWPU in 2005; in the same year she began to work as the deputy secretary of the Party Committee, SWPU.
Currently, Madam Du has the following accolades: the expert enjoying special allowance from the State Council, Academic Leader of Sichuan Province, the academic leader and the leading researcher of the National Key Lab of Gas and Oil Reservoir Geology and Exploitation Engineering, the director of “Natural Gas Exploration” Key Lab of China National Petroleum Corporation, Executive Member of the Council of Sichuan Petroleum Academy and member of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Her main achievements are as follows: she has issued more than fifty research papers both on the domestic level and at international conferences, twenty-one of which are embodied by EI and one by ISTP; she has aslo issued one monograph, two translated books; meanwhile she has taken charge of more than forty various scientific research and teaching reforms, and has acquired numerous awards both nationally and provincially

Deputy Party Secretary: Zhang Wenwei

Zhang Wenwei, born in June 1961 in Yingshan City of Sichuan Province, is the deputy secretary of the Communist Party Committee of China at SWPU. Mr. Zhang began his career in 1982 and became a member of the Communist Party of China in November 1992. He got his Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering from Chongqing University in July 1982, then stayed and worked there as a lecturer. He was transferred to SWPU in 1988 where, from December 1996 to 1999, he served as the vice director and deputy secretary of the Party Committee and director of the School of Mechanical Engineering , SWPU successively. From June 1999 to 2005 he worked as the deputy director of Organization and Personnel Department at SWPU. From August 2005 he worked as the deputy secretary of the Party Committee, secretary of the Discipline Committee and the chairman of the Labor Union at SWPU.
His other honors include being awarded the title of “Excellent Party Operator of Colleges in Sichuan” and receiving the First Prize for Progress in Science of Sichuan Petroleum Bureau. Mr. Zhang has publicly issued eight articles and a monograph and has taken charge of six science research projects

Vice President: Chen Cichang

Chen Cichang, born in September 1948 in Leshan of Sichuan Province, is the vice president of Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU). Professor Chen is a standing member of the Eighth People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) of Sichuan Province and the ninth vice chairman of the CPPCC. He has earned an engineering doctorate and serves as a professor and doctoral supervisor. His career began in October 1969. Mr. Chen graduated from the School of Hydro-Mechanism, Xihua University in October 1977, and received a Master’s degree of Engineering in Hydro-mechanical Engineering Technology Center in Jiangsu University in 1981 and earned a Doctor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering of Science Department in Kyushu University in Japan in 1989. From 1989 he has successively worked as the vice director and director of the Irrigation & Drainage Mechanical Research Society; vice director and associate professor of the Hydro-Mechanical Engineering Technology Center; an associate professor, a visiting professor of Kyushu University in Japan; a professor in Jiangsu University; and as the vice director and director of the Dynamics Department in Jiangsu University. From March 1998 he successively worked as a professor, the presidential assistant and the vice president of Xihua University. Since June 2004 he has been the vice president of SWPU.
Mr. Chen Cichang has received numerous honors. He is an expert having received a special allowance from the State Council and is recognized as a leading academic expert of Sichuan Province. He has finished over twenty national and provincial scientific projects receiving awards for over ten provincial and ministerial prizes. He is a member of the Hydro-Mechanism Professional Committee of Thermophysics Engineering in China Science Academy, the Pumping & Pumping Station Professional Committee of Water-Power Academy, the Academic Committee of Energy & Environment Lab of Thermophysics Society in China Science Academy, and the Hydro-power Engineering Key Lab Academic Committee of Jiangsu Province. He has served as the Vice Chairman of Sichuan Water Power Generation Society, the Vice Chairman of Sichuan Agricultural Machinery Society, and the Vice Chairman of Chengdu Mechanical Engineering Society. Mr. Chen Cichang is also a member of the Mechanical Society of Japan.
His main achievements include the publishing four works (one translated version); editing an article included in a collection; issuing more than one hundred papers in academic magazines both at home and abroad; and owning one patent. He has been invited to visit America, Canada and more than ten other countries for the purposes of academic exchanges and presentations.

Vice President: Zhou Mao

Zhou Mao, born in May 1958 in Gaoxian of Sichuan Province, began his career in July 1976 and got his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in January 1982 when he graduated from the Department of Geology and Exploration, SWPU and then worked in Huabei Oil Field. After joining the Communist Party Committee of China in October 1984, he was transferred to the Personnel Department of SWPU in 1986. In 1990 he was named the director of the Organizational Department of the Chinese Party committee in SWPU. Since March 1992 Mr. Zhou has worked as the deputy director of the Personnel Department at SWPU, the director of the Personnel Department in SWPU and the assistant to the president of SWPU. From June 2001 till now he serves as the vice president of the SWPU. His main achievements have come from his responsibility for supporting and industrial work. He has acquired the honorable title of “Excellent School in Sichuan Province for Supporting Work and Socialization Reform” in both of 2003 and 2004. He also won the first class prize for the overall evaluation of school industry among colleges in Sichuan Province in the successive years of 2002, 2003 and 2004.

Vice President: Sun Yiping

Sun Yiping was born in November 1959 in Hongya City of Sichuan Province. He has a Bachelor of Science and is a senior political engineer. After beginning his career in 1977, he joined the Communist Party Committee of China in June 1983. In July 1983 he graduated from the School of Petroleum Engineering , SWPU, where he continued to work in numerous capacities. In April 1987 he became the secretary of the League General Branch in the School of Mechanical Engineering, SWPU, in August 1988 the secretary of the League General Branch of the School of Petroleum Engineering, and in February 1989 the deputy secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Petroleum Engineering, SWPU, From February 1994 he has worked successively at SWPU as a vice director and director of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the dean and secretary of the Party Branch in the Architecture Institute, the director of the President’s Office, the director of the Party Committee Office and President’s Office, the President’s Assistant and adjunct to the director of the Party Committee Office and President’s Office, a standing member of the Party Committee. From September 2005, he has served as the vice president of SWPU. His numerous achievements include having been involved in and taken charge of seven scientific research projects and five teaching reform projects, writing more than ten publications, and being awarded the titles of “Sichuan Province Outstanding Party Member”, “Sichuan Province Excellent School Political Worker”, “Sichuan Province Advanced Worker in College Graduates’ Distribution Work” and “China National Petroleum Corporation Excellent Political Worker ”

Vice President: Zhao Jinzhou

Zhao Jinzhou, born in April, 1962 in Xiantao of Hubei Province, now is the vice president, prefessor and doctoral advisor of SWPU. Mr. Zhao has been a member of the Communist Party Committee of China since July 1985. Since September 1997 he has held a number of positions at SWPU: the vice director of the School of Petroleum Engineering, the vice director of the Academic Affairs Department, the vice director and then the director of the Postgraduate School. From 2005 professor Zhao serves as a standing member of the Party Committee and vice president of SWPU. He is granted the government special allowance by the State Council. He has also been recognized as an Academic Leader of Sichuan Province, the Trans-century Academic & Technology Leader of China National Petroleum Corporation, Exemplary Expert with Outstanding Achievements of Sichuan Province, a member of the Expert Review Committee of Sichuan Province, Academic Leader of National Key Lab of Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation Engineering, Councilor of China Petroleum Education Academy, Administrative Counselor of China Postgraduate Education Seminar, Expertise Member of the Specialized standardization Committee of China Petroleum Exploitation Engineering, Vice Counselor General of “Discovery” magazine, member of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), member of Editorial Board of “Gas Engine College Journal”, “Oil Drilling & Production Technology”, “Drilling Fluid & Completion Fluid”, ”Henan Petroleum”, “Southwest Petroleum University Journal”, and a Technology Advisor of Kongkang Xinhua Communication Press. His main achievements are “Sichuan Province Ten Top Outstanding Youth”; taking charge of and joining in over forty scientific research projects and education reforms, both national and provincial, acquiring more than fifteen awards at the provincial level or above, writing for three monographs, issuing over one hundred forty publications among which forty-three have been recognized by SCI, EI and ISTP.
