SWPU has fifteen schools and three departments to offer forty-four bachelor programs, forty-nine master programs and more than ten different doctorate programs.
This laboratory is the only national level key laboratory in the field of petroleum industry in China. It is a base for scientific research, experimental research, academic exchange and high-level personnel training in the petroleum industry, which was established in 1988 and approved in 1990 by the Chinese Government with Prof. Luo Pingya (Academician of China Academy of Engineering) as its Director. The laboratory was open to the outside world in 1995. And It was evaluated in the year of 2000 and 2006 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, China with the result of Excellence.
